AMMONITE / AMMOLITE
Ammonite ( Ammolite ) is a 60 million year old fossil, found mainly in Alberta Canada.
Ammonite or Ammolite is now Canadas national gemstone, and considered to be one of the rarest gems on earth. They are predicting that by the year 2010 the gems supply will have been exhausted.
This gem is among my favorites. The way it plays on light absolutely fascinates me.
At one angle it will look one colour I.e. green. Then as you turn it, the colour changes to a shade of blue, red, or perhaps purple.
