Jewelry to me is a work of art - a micro sculpture, something I have been studying most of my life. My fascination with art began when I was 8 years old and one facet in the art world that had intrigued me was "sculpturing". With the guidance and teachings of Richard Freeman from Winnipeg, Manitoba, I was able to create beauty in each piece I made with great pride and enthusiasm. By refining and scaling down my pieces, I now apply the techniques and principles of sculpting to produce exquisite jewelry for my clients.
It has been said that if you love what you do for a living that you will never have worked a day in your life. I have discovered this. I can’t imagine doing anything else in life, as making jewelry brings me such pleasure and fulfillment. With what has been a life long passion and commitment, I now consider an every day task, an art form. We all possess a talent within, whether it be for teaching, cooking, painting, or working with numbers, it is none the less a talent. Though many fail to recognize their talents, there are those of us that dare to dream, take our talent and attempt to master it.
The diversity of this medium leads to infinite design possibilities and my plans are to experiment and discover various styles that will give each piece individuality, in addition to enhancing my collection. As you will see in my work, I try to create originality by mixing style and technique in combination with other mediums. I pride myself in stating that I have met all my client’s requirements to their utmost satisfaction by creating for them specially designed jewelry.
I rarely display my work at shows or exhibitions. I rely on galleries and word-of-mouth to make my living. I specialize in doing custom orders. I currently have clients in many parts of the world. With the popularity of the Internet and e-mail, I have found that this is the best tool for research, design and communication with clients and suppliers worldwide.
